VA AWARDS CONTRACT TO VERSAMED TO SUPPLY VENTILATORS
Pearl River, NY, October 15, 2006 GSA Ferderal Supply Chain, has signed a five year contract with VersaMed, Inc. to provide ventilators to GSA facilities.
Under the contract, GSA facilities may purchase ventilators at negotiated group prices.
The contract covers VersaMed's flagship iVent201 ventilator, a lightweight, battery-powered critical care ventilator that is transportable and versatile. The iVent201 can be used for both non-invasive face-mask and invasive ventilation from pediatric through adult patients. With the iVent201, a caregiver can seamlessly transfer a patient between leak-tolerant and invasive modes without having to switch machines. The iVent201's "Quick Start" capability allows it to be set up in seconds even by entry-level personnel. At the same time, the iVent201 provides comprehensive advanced diagnostic features including loops, 14 parameters of trending, graphics and data recall.
"Because the iVent201 is two machines in one, it has reduced our customers administrative costs while improving their quality of care. With our new relationship with GSA, GSA's members will have the opportunity to realize even greater savings" says Jerry Korten, VersaMed's CEO.
Not only is the iVent201 economical, it provides groundbreaking comfort and patient compatibility. The iVent201's Adaptive FlowTM and easy exhale features provide unprecedented patient comfort. These breakthrough technologies keep the patient from "fighting the ventilator" by letting their needs spontaneously determine flow rate. "It's the difference between helping someone breathe and forcing them to," explains Dan Normand, a respiratory therapist and VersaMed's Director of Sales,US.
